About Eire Therapy

We provide specialist  Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and advanced Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), covering a wide range of psychological, emotional and behavioural problems. In addition to our specialist clinics for OCD, BFRBs, Health Anxiety and Tic Disorders, we work extensively with a broad range of anxiety, mood and personality disorders.

We operate from our private offices in Carrick on Shannon, Leitrim in the Republic of Ireland and online by video link. Video based therapy means that we can provide access to specialist Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy,  Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy, across Ireland and in the Northern Irish counties. We also operate in partnership with our UK clinics based in Sevenoaks and London and supported by a wider team of Consultant Psychiatrists and Clinical Psychologists.

This means that our Irish clients always work with fully qualified, experienced and professionally accredited clinicians regardless of location or travel constraints. Video-based sessions work in exactly the same way as face-to-face therapy and the published research demonstrates that the clinical and therapeutic outcomes are equally effective.

Recent media coverage has highlighted that there are many private counselling services offering CBT, EMDR and Psychotherapy in Ireland without the necessary specialist training and relevant clinical credentials. We are fully qualified and professionally accredited by the Irish Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy (IABCP). The IABCP is the lead recognised professional body for CBT covering the Irish Republic and Northern Ireland. We also have full accreditation with the European Association of Cognitive and Behavioural Psychotherapy (EACBT) and the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies) BABCP). This means that you will always work with a fully qualified, competent and clinically experienced CBT and EMDR specialist.

We operate on a commercially ethical basis, so face-to-face and online appointments with CBT and EMDR specialists in Ireland are just €95 for a 60 minute appointment. CBT & EMDR

The published research evidence demonstrates that Cognitive Behavioural Therapy - CBT and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing - EMDR provide highly effective psychological treatments for a wide range of anxiety, mood and personality disorders. In addition to our specialist clinics for Obsessive Compulsive Disorders and it's subtypes, for Body Focused Repetitive Behaviours such as Trichotillomania and Dermatillonmania, for Health Anxiety and long-term    health conditions and for Tic Disorders, we provide CBT for the following problems:

CBT and EMDR treatment protocols are normally delivered over 60 minute sessions held on a weekly basis. The length of therapy will vary according to the condition and level of complexity, however treatment typically takes eight-sixteen weeks  to the point of clinical recovery.

CBT provision in the Republic of Ireland is limited and clients may often wait for several weeks for an initial appointment. Many therapists offering Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in Ireland have not completed specialist post-graduate training in CBT and this often means that the quality of therapy is frequently substandard. We are professionally accredited by the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP), the Irish Association of Behavioural and Cognitive  Psychotherapy (IABCP)and the European  Association of Cognitive and Behavioural Psychotherapies (EACBT). This means that your therapist will be a CBT specialist with Masters degree level Cognitive Behavioural Therapy training and full accreditation status.

As a specialist psychological service, we provide mainstream CBT, ACT, CFT, DBT, IBT  and REBT. EMDR can be delivered as an individual therapy or as an adjunct to Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy.
